
Dr. Anton Fomenko
Dr. Fomenko is a functional and epilepsy neurosurgeon in the Section of Neurosurgery at the University of Manitoba. Originally from Montreal and Toronto, he completed medical school at Dalhousie University in Halifax, followed by neurosurgical residency at the University of Manitoba, integrated with graduate studies in Toronto. He went on to complete dual fellowships in functional and epilepsy neurosurgery at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Fomenko’s clinical and research interests include noninvasive brain stimulation, advanced multimodal neuroimaging, and expanding the indications for deep brain stimulation (DBS) in epilepsy, neurological, and psychiatric disorders. He is excited to offer surgical options for Manitobans living with refractory epilepsy and to continue Manitoba’s strong tradition of neuromodulation for patients with movement disorders.
Dr. Fomenko also serves as the Undergraduate Medical Education Director for Neurosurgery, and manages the Section's website
